She has been recognized for her exemplary contributions to dentistry with two of the profession’s most distinguished honors.
In May 2025, she was inducted into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon (OKU) Mu Nu Chapter, and in October 2025 she was named a Fellow of the International College of Dentists (ICD).
During the Mu Nu Chapter’s 52nd annual convocation in May 2025, Mensinkai was elected as a new faculty member in recognition of her distinguished achievements in dental education, scholarship and leadership. Omicron Kappa Upsilon is the national dental honor society established in 1914 to recognize individuals who exemplify excellence in scholarship, character and professional ethics. Membership is among the highest distinctions in academic dentistry, awarded to those who embody integrity and a deep commitment to advancing the profession.
In October, Mensinkai was selected as a Fellow of the International College of Dentists, one of the world’s most prestigious dental organizations. Fellowship in the ICD is extended by invitation only to dentists who have demonstrated outstanding professional achievement, integrity, leadership and service to humanity. Fewer than 3 percent of U.S. dentists, and less than 1 percent worldwide, receive this honor, marking her selection as a significant professional milestone.
Mensinkai’s dual inductions reflect her dedication to mentorship, academic and clinical excellence and leadership in advancing oral health while promoting global collaboration within dentistry.
She was also recently recognized by Bexar County Judge Peter Sakai for her contributions to the Asian community of San Antonio.
“This year has been exceptionally rewarding for me professionally,” said Mensinkai. “I take great pride in being part of this institution and look forward to continuing to contribute as I grow in my role.”
